Cracking the Egg: The Untold Story of The Nightcrawlers

In 1964, five high school friends from Daytona Beach

(Sylvan Wells, Pete Thomason, Tommy Ruger, Rob Rouse and Chuck Conlon) formed a garage band called The Nightcrawlers.  They never dreamed that one day they'd share the stage with the likes of The Beach Boys and The Allman Joys- who would go on to become The Allman Brothers.

The Nightcrawlers were entertainers first and foremost. As band manager, Mike Stone, said, Rob "rocked the house" with his R&B covers. But it was Chuck's original songs, most notably the now cult-classic "The Little Black Egg", that earned them a spot on Billboard's chart and a place in rock and roll history.
